Zeitgeist : The Movie

— Zeitgeist: The Movie —

This movie has a lot of truths, which makes it dangerous to the truth itself. It also has a lot of truths assumed too,  presuppositions makes it dangerous to the truth itself.

The authenticity of the personage of Jesus, is questionable to say the least, but the parallels of the story of Jesus and the many more myths and the relationships with religions, is marvelous, to say the least.

I question everything, but this movie does too, so I don’t want to plug this movie as a truth of truths, cause it’s just a movie. That is capable of error as all movies have dramatic license to lie, but it makes you think of history and all the lies that we’ve had to put up with.

“History is always written by the winners. When two cultures clash, the loser is obliterated, and the winner writes the history books-books which glorify their own cause and disparage the conquered foe. As Napoleon once said, ‘What is history, but a fable agreed upon?’ ”

Dan Brown, The Da Vinci Code

History to me is the winners write and villianize the losers for the sake of pride, and the quote from Napoleon is the way I see history too. It’s a falsehood that’s agreed upon, a myth or fable, that made a history book.

I remember history being rewritten in our lifetime, what I learned of history it’s always being rewritten with subtle changes disguised as re-editing, but changes in minute details give rise to conjectures in thought.

It’s like the butterfly effect, change one little thought, you can change the world.

This is a 2007 movie, that lived its life being questioned and proven wrong or right, but it’s a refreshing piece of thinking to say the least.

There was also 2 more addendums to this movie one being called Zeitgeist: addendum 2008, and Zeitgeist: Moving Forward 2011
