This transform from yahoo to site ground

Moving the domain is a real kicker, but I don’t see who is kicking me.
I feel it , but hiding in anonymity, it gives you the power of abuse.
I was ignorant of Yahoos many changes over the years, and when I contacted their support and looking for help, I had to wait 24 hours to hear back from them. I was polite to say the least, and tried to reason with them, but they made me feel like a troublesome bitch.

I am not a bitch, and they were so patronizing, but they never were clear about their backup services.

This was the exchange between them and me:

Comments:I deactivated wp-cache plugin, and removed it by deleting it, and the site went down, nowhere can I get access to the content I posted… it a whitescreen everywhere. I went to the managing blogging page, and I have previous installations of WordPress, but I can’t set any of them to the default home page. Is there a way to do that? I hope there is a way to do that, without installing wordpress again. Thanks Rich

ME: Hi Dain
It was fine before I took out the WPcache plugin after that it disabled wordpress, so I couldn’t get back in…just a whitescreen
It was about 10pm, April22, give or take an hour… I made an Updraft backup just before I took out the WPcache plugin, but I couldn’t get the smartFTP working to make a local hard drive backup, I should’ve done that before I went deleting plugins.
If you could get me back to last night’s setup, can you look up the time I deleted WP Cache? It was the backup I made before that, but I needed to go back into wordpress to restore it.
If you could look up the last backup in the UPDRAFT folder, it was the last backup I made.
I’d appreciate it… it’s not business, just blogging …whatever that is.

I made a new request cause I called SiteGround’s support and he asked if yahoo was cPanel compatible, I thought they backed up the old way merely copying it, with different formats compression ratios, proprietary codexes… and not open source. It opened the door for more problems, so I made the following request from Yahoo customer service if it was compatible with cPanel.

After last night, I have been down all day, I deleted WPcache plugin for wordpress, and the site tomidjah.com has been offline 24 hours now. I’ve been shopping online for a cloud backup, and the one I found uses cpanel, and they asked me to ask yahoo if it’s compatible with cpanel. I thought I remember more control over the blogging manager, where you could set an old blog to default to your homepage, right now tomidjah.com is a blank whitescreen.
Subject:CPanel compatible??

And then this note excusing their incompetence… patronizing and condescending tone to say the least… I knew I was ignorant, and wouldn’t mind being spoken to condescendingly, but patronizing brings back bad memories.

Well I went to the Tomidjah.com and it was Site Solution software from Easter Sunday, which I deleted from the site before I installed WordPress, and I wanted wordpress/blog5 restored.

Well after that I found the snapshot backups

I figured that I could’ve restored it originally, if I got the link to it, instead of their ignorant prejudices… grant it, I’m stupid.

I never tried to hide the fact, but their customer service would’ve been right to direct me to this… that I had backups, or they had backups on their server. When I did find them after 2 days of this rigamarole, I was pissed cause they didn’t tell me that.

I’m getting old, my vigor of mind is fading, that’s what age does to you.

I deleted blog4 by FTP the night before, that’s why I was surprised at it being there, when I discovered the backups, but now none of them were there, Blog5 was the one I wanted to get back… but now they were all gone.

I’m disgusted by my experiences with Yahoo support, they probably have their side of the story, I’m not one to get along with everybody, but I don’t hide the truth, which is why I’m downgraded to the slow line.

Well  they kept downgrading the transfer of the domains today, they denied Siteground’s attempts and mine by FTP, so I put in another request, saying I’m Richard McNerney Tomidjah, that I’m sure of that, and then I gave my ownership codes to prove my authority for the transfer.

I had to write this is my side of the story, they had 4 people by my count, so their story would be incomplete, not even half the story…and the rest hearsay.

But I needed to blow off steam, that’s the one blessing of blogs, you need to get something off your chest.
Where the weight of the world is crushing you, and all you have is your story to gather strength.
