Tomidjah’s Rant #8 – true religion?

— Tomidjah’s Rant #8 – true religion? —

The theory of a true religion is a cage at best.

A virtual cage looking to capture the vastness of the universe, which is impossible for one man, or even one world to contain and comprehend. The immense nature of the universe is unattainable, much less than our ability to conquer the vastness of our own solar system. Which is in a very big galaxy which contains millions, if not billions of other solar systems. Beyond our galaxy are numerous other galaxies, knowing the number is not knowable, at least for now.

I was puzzled that no one else saw this, right in the story of creation they referred to God as they, cause they said :

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

It referred to God as a collective, a group of individuals. The word “us” and the word “our”, it means a group of individuals, does it not? This is from the King James Version, but it’s the same in any translation of the bibles.

So I got confused when the Jews didn’t pick up on that, and went to the old man in the clouds depictions. Which was taking away from God’s saying, and distorting it to suit their own agenda. They killed all the prophets/people that spoke the truth, and gave credence instead to the message, which was basically love God and love one another.

The Spirit of God escapes the Cages

I‘d like to thank Google for making YouTube, as it was formed, I’d like to take advantage of various YouTube videos that addresses the subject of religion. Also, I have many beefs about the changes to the interface, when you have a strong interface, you decide to change it… much to my chagrin.

I came across this video of HBO’s ‘True Detective’, and it reflected my thoughts over the last few days. Though I’ve never seen a whole episode…I’m a fleeting bird flying over just this scene.

True Religion is a touchy subject, it is full of potholes that require a constant filling, with the road maintenance crews doing the filling.

There are many religions too, and those religions that cross paths like Judaism, Christianity, and Islamism is a danger of getting lost in the interpretations, no belief is truly parallel, much like the London roadways where you need an A-Z map to maneuver unscathed through the streets, because it is not intuitive, and trying to maneuver through this world without a map, is a bit intimidating, and you find that you are constantly lost.

History of Religions

The history of God according to the atheists, which does more to bring God into focus for me, than the thought of God not existing at all. You give God more credence than any religion.

You are so much digging a deeper hole for you to get out of, than you know. I see you digging a very deep hole that you can’t get out of, without the help of God, and God saying to you, “Oh you exist”.

This Guy is an Atheist, and takes pride in announcing it… he’s smart and sharing at the core…go and look at his other stuff. But be critical of him, he would be honored by your doubting of him… he took a lot of time in the research at least…and the time to put this together.

Catholicism and many other Cages

I was raised as a Catholic, and I saw the polytheism with the saints and angels, and I was going to hell just after I made my communion at 7 years old, because I was raised to believe the Nuns, that it was a mortal sin, if I missed mass on Sunday, and when we went to visit my Grandparents in New Jersey for the weekend, I didn’t go to church. The Nuns were a traumatic experience for me, they were good people, but they were misled, and were capable of sin too.

The thought of Buddhism was a fresh look at the freedom that I sought, it covered a few things that gave me more questions, they didn’t have answers to those questions… it always answered with another question, much like the spirit of God.

Relinquishing Catholicism

I was left with Losing My Religion (REM), which was the one world, I dreaded.

So Buddhism wasn’t for me, as Catholicism was not for me either, so I sat with the Mormons and they wouldn’t baptize me, because I wouldn’t confess Joseph Smith as a prophet, so the Mormons were a dead end, for me at least.

I sat with the Jehovah Witnesses more times than I needed too, but they were more my mind’s true fellowship, but I saw them as misled as they were judging me of being misled, with dark spirits…or familiar spirits. Also, I know spirits lie and mislead at their whims, it’s their nature, but God hasn’t killed them yet, so why should I kill them.

Even though, I went to numerous non-denominational christian churches, I liked the free spirit of those churches. They were littered with dogmas and traditions that they imposed on me, rather than be glad I was there. So, I didn’t find my true religion.

I don’t bad mouth any religion, I just don’t see them as true. There is some truth in them, but not the whole truth. There I go judging again these so called true religion.

Where did we Come From

This is TED ed youtube video

I believe we won’t know the whole truth of what God is, until the day of judgment, then we’ll feel stupid, cause of the fact, that we always knew.

It’s my hunch, or my intuition…which has always been right, I just grew deaf in my old age, when I was a kid, I heard God loud and clear.

When I was young and stupid, God was so clear in my mind, but with interacting with this world’s leaders and teachers, I was confused and broken, and needed repair. God was again loud and clear, but I grew tired of God being so evasive and mysterious…but I loved God, which is a conundrum of feelings. Where you hate and love someone, which is an uneasy feeling…like a sea sickness.

It must be the waves of trials at sea, which is another metaphor

God’s Commandments of True Religion

The question of God existing and proving God to exist, will never happen. Unless God, will not be God, and become an egotistical bore, as God has been in the past. I think it was some impostor calling himself God, but God repented of killing everyone. God made himself equal to man. When he sent his son Jesus, and made a new covenant with mankind, lifting the pressures of the ten commandments, and made them two

The two great commandments that contain the whole law of God are:

1.)Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind, and with thy whole strength;
2.)Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Jobs like Job’s True Religion

You talk to God, you show you love God, or hate God, don’t be afraid of lamenting about your life. God enjoys your pain indirectly through Satan. It makes you truthful, and God is pleased by your truthfulness, cause it’s sincere, and not a phony praise.

God is more pleased by my cursing of God, then by my phony praises of God. I’m very displeased with my experiences with the Great One, but I’ll always love God. I have no choice in the matter, cause I hate God all the same.

It’s like Job, God was giving the devil reign over him with trials, and taking from him. Denying him success in his life, but he never cursed God. I’m sure he must’ve felt close to cursing God, but he never did.

God has given me all I need, and I feel like I’ve failed God with my prodigal ways, wasteful spending, but I give mankind the opportunity to make me proud, that was a prodigal thought. Well, I ain’t dead yet, I still have hope that mankind will be proven to be worthy of saving.

We looked to the presence of God in all our lives, and we saw God in everything. There were many Gods, and then God after revealing himself as a Spirit, which can be a collective medium that connects us all.

God is Spirit

John 4:24 – “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

I just would like a clear definition of spirit, that’s what I think that true religion failed us on. Even Science failed on that point too. We have charlatans quick to take your money and BS you, but the seriousness of the spirit’s discovery is discarded with the trash. Since it’s in us, I think we should look inside of us, rather than look outside of us.  What do I know?

I am basically a Christian. I know of no true religion, that I’m aligned to, or against any of them. Also, I do believe in the Holy comforter that came to the disciples of Jesus though. Jesus said that “HE SHALL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS” the emphasis is on “all things”.

John 14:26
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Born into Confusion and Awareness

I was a baby before a consciousnesses of cognition, and before my aware state. I was conscious of that spirit, before I met the world. It ruined that understanding, that was full of love and amazement.

It was when I started school…it replaced the spirit of God.

I commune with that spirit every day. I see the spirit as a collective medium that all communicate with. They just call it daydreaming, theorizing, or padding their egotism with divine revelations. It’s all prayer in my book.

The atheist is theorizing about God’s existence. He’d be more productive, if he accepts God as God is, and stop trying to disprove God. But what do I know. I find the atheist as my brother. I thank him for my views of God, because of his doubts, they give me a clearer picture of the God that I seek. God becomes more real to me.

God is as mysterious as the universe that we learn about. We should continue to learn and seek the good things, and put a check on our bad things. In other words, we should look to better the world, and not destroy it.

Remember God is spirit… that’s a given…a gift.

The only thing is, how do we define spirit?

I went through a lot of videos on this subject, but this one from Alan Watts who died in 1973.  I’ll leave you with these thoughts on SPIRIT, and maybe you could figure it out. Hopefully you’ll share it with people, hopefully by example, rather than words. Examples are louder than words, and leaves impressions that are hard to ignore.

“…Every age and generation must be as free to act for itself in all cases as the age and generations which preceded it. The vanity and presumption of governing beyond the grave is the most ridiculous and insolent of all tyrannies. Man has no property in man; neither has any generation a property in the generations which are to follow.
The Parliament or the people of 1688, or of any other period, had no more right to dispose of the people of the present day, or to bind or to control them in any shape whatever, than the parliament or the people of the present day have to dispose of, bind or control those who are to live a hundred or a thousand years hence...”

Thomas Paine (1737–1809) – Rights of Man

And a song to say goodbye, it’s every musician’s secret the string theory of God’s existence. True religion is a tune of thankfulness, not a tune of judgment. God has the right to judge, and only God has the right to judge. So all you atheists, you have to stop playing God, and chill.

I guess all you atheists and religious people, cause atheism is a religion to me. All you religious people, you judge others, instead of yourselves. I’m judging the reader, so I guess I’m talking to myself… my bad.
