Kitchen Extension

Extending Kitchen Space
With Storage Cabinets

First David had to dig the hole with a backhoe, that we rented, and then we had to pour the footings with cement, and then we had to build the concrete walls on the cement footings after they cured, to match the crawlspace height.

Then David had to backfill it, and put a plywood floor on it, and build the framing of the walls, and then had to insulate it, and we were ready to take the window sliding doors with the vinyl framing, so the house would stay warm, cause the insulation was in the walls.

David took out the glass sliding doors, and we were warm.
David took over the sheetrock and muddying/spackling it.

Then after with texturing and white primer paint, David painted it the gold yellow color that we had left over, after Carissa painted it first. I’m going to leave it up to the person to pick the color, that will paint it next.
Cause I’m getting sick of that gold yellow color.

Oh, and the white paint next to the door, is where the window is going, it’s coming in about a week from Milgard.

As of 2/4/24 this has been done to the Kitchen Extension. The outside siding and trim has been done by David, and also the wood floor planking has been done by David, and David put the window in too…

He also put the new dishwasher in this last week, the used one finally gave out cleaning the dishes, and I bought it used in 2005, so it lasted almost 20 years.

So this Thursday we’ll receive the storage cabinets that we built this extension for, the piles of stuff needed a cabinet I can reach with drawers for shelves… it started cluttering blocking bedrooms, and I need more storage for MY Stuff.

They came. and this is David’s work on finishing this, he also built me a wall table so I could write on, or anyone could write on.

I‘ll post an update of a fully finished with blinds and curtains for the windows, and once we clean up the hoarders mess… I’m thankful for my Mom’s neat freak influence, but it’s also a curse… cause I still hear her spirit.
