Still Talking to a Mirror

— Still Talking to a Mirror —

Every time we converse, I’m wise beyond compare
When you came into my life, I smiled, and you smiled back

Time has changed our faces, and time has changed the places
Time has made us grow, time and time again I know
You give me hope, and give me love
But time is not enough to keep me warm
You give me love, and give me hope
To survive this cold cold world, and gain the strength to cope

The past just flew by, and you don’t even know why
You’re Still talking to the mirror, trying to make the moment clearer

Shine the light, someone will see
Shine it bright, you just might
set someone free

The planet earth is the place I was born, what country is a shallow need
nationalism separates you from everyone, and only makes your heart bleed
I’m not here to shed your tears, or spread your fears
Visions of home in the distance, it’s just not too clear

Pressure from the right and the left
I ran into a room where the web of lies
fell off of my eyes, the child in me was free
Destruction in your mind
This is not , NOT mankind
It’s the freedom in the right and wrong
Life is the song, that we learn or don’t learn
God is good, but the idea is cruel

Shine the light, someone just might see
Shine it bright, you just might
set someone free

free free free

The world distracts you with the news and the trends
Some ideas or demons are the forces setting the course
All the pain, all the tears, all the shame, and all the fears
Will only go away, when you show the faith that they hate
Just face the rain, and live out the years true to your name
open your ears to the sounds of the day
Wake up, make up, and take up
faith and do

Shine the light, someone just might see
Shine it bright, you just might
set someone free

by what your light shines on

the clarity brings understanding

and it sets others free
