Lukas Nelson – Find Yourself

Another son of the Willie Nelson’s clan, Lukas Nelson takes the stage, and sings a ballad, that speaks from the heart.

Find Yourself

Well I don’t mind sleeping alone
If it means I don’t have to play your crazy games no more
You’re the most precious thing I’ve ever seen
But I ain’t gonna let it slide when you’re mean to me
I know the love that I deserve

And I hope you find yourself
Before I find somebody else to be my lover
And I hope you find yourself
Before I find somebody else to be my lover

Well, you tell me things I wanna hear
You want me near, and I know you feel me leaving you
You think that I won’t say goodbye
But baby I ain’t standing by while you stretch the truth
I know the love that I deserve

And I hope you find yourself
Before I find somebody else to be my lover
I said I hope you find yourself
Before I find somebody else to be my lover
I know the love that I deserve

I know the love that I deserve
Oh, I know the love that I deserve
I know the love that I deserve

I said I hope you find yourself
Before I find somebody else to be my lover
I hope you find yourself
Before I find somebody else to be my lover

Oh I said I hope you find, I hope you find
I said I hope you find, I hope you find
I hope you find yourself before I found somebody else

I‘m more of a country music fan today, and I’ve been hit with Country Music on my Youtube feed, and I came across this gem from Lukas Nelson.

It’s about a woman that needs to find herself, or he will begin to look for someone else.
The story of my life, well from my perspective at least… I have lots of female friends… but they’re looking for themselves too.
Which is why they’re “friends”… or I assessed, they would be better without me… which perturbed  them more than me, but I always wished them love and the best in my heart.

Sorry to go off on a personal tangent there…

Well this is a song close to my heart right now… it covers all those females I know… I hope they find themselves without me.
Life is complicated, and it should be simple… once you find yourself.

I’m guessing this actually happened to Lukas Nelson, in some indirect way, and he wrote a song about it, but I could be wrong.
