Little Raven

Little Raven

The night has set on this northern town
and you wonder where your wings will take you
You are driven by your dreams,
but its never what it seems
So you start to cry, but your tears run dry
and the morning sun brushes against your eye
You’re awake now, and you wonder why
that your world of friends has come to bitter ends
that the haste makes waste, and leaves you with a bitter taste

Little Raven why cry
You’ve got wings and you know you can fly
Little Raven spread your wings
Open your heart and learn to sing

The bitter fruit of an ambitious heart
needs to ripen before its sweet
Your patience is the place to start
to spread your wings, and stretch your feet
then flap your wings to a different beat

Fly Fly Fly

Little Raven why cry
You’ve got wings and you know you can fly
Little Raven spread your wings
Open your heart and learn to sing
you can sing, you can fly

This is a song that I never put to music, but if you feel it, you can.

It discusses the anxiety and feelings of hopelessness that young children feel, and turn towards the bad dark side. It’s a call to make it right, and seek the light side, and sing for joy.

Hopefully you’ll see a better life, if you seek it.

I was depressed and lonely when I wrote that, probably was the reason, I never wrote music for it.

I googled Little Raven and came up with and a Native Chief named that and this Songwriter named that too… so it Goes.
