Ensure This : Good Health?

— Ensure This : Good Health? —

I just lost my Father this year, in June, and with his Ensure intake which he ordered from Walmart to ensure his good health, well I’ve been taking Ensure Plus for my healing of my broken leg for about a month now, and my physical health is in decline, so I stopped taking it for a full 2 days, at the time I’m writing this it’s more like 2 3/4 days, and my health is improving.

Water, Corn Maltodextrin, Sugar, Milk Protein Concentrate, Canola Oil, Soy Protein Isolate, Corn Oil, Pea Protein Concentrate. Less than 0.5% of the Following: Natural & Artificial Flavor, Magnesium Phosphate, Potassium Citrate, Soy Lecithin, Sodium Citrate, Potassium Chloride, Calcium Phosphate, Calcium Carbonate, Salt, Choline Chloride, Ascorbic Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Carrageenan, Ferrous Sulfate, dl-Alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate, Zinc Sulfate, Niacinamide, Manganese Sulfate, Calcium Pantothenate, Cupric Sulfate, Vitamin A Palmitate, Thiamine Chloride Hydrochloride, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin, Chromium Chloride, Folic Acid, Sodium Molybdate, Biotin, Sodium Selenate, Potassium Iodide, Phylloquinone, Vitamin D3, and Cyanocobalamin.
Contains milk and soy ingredients.

These are the list of ingredients in Ensure Plus… some seem a little questionable, everyone’s bodies needs are different, and to come up with a vitamin supplement that’s good for everyone, is impossible it seems. One mans treasure is another man’s poison.

The questionable ingredient for me is Potassium Hydroxide, it’s a caustic ingredient and has many side effects, which I was forming after I drank a bottle for a month straight. I was having red rashes under my eyes and was forming edemas in my lungs, like pneumonia, and was having a coughing fit.

It’s puzzling they sell a healthy drink that will slowly kill you… My Father was suffering from the same symptoms before he died, I’m not saying they poisoned him, but I question many more ingredients in Ensure Plus.

The next ingredient in Ensure is Potassium Chloride, they use that as one of the drugs in capital punishment 120mg Potassium Chloride is the last drug in the chain of drugs for lethal injection, which Oklahoma screwed up recently, they injected potassium acetate, instead of potassium chloride.

My question is, why is it in a healthy drink?

Another ingredient I question is Carrageenan, I don’t know what it does because it has no nutritional value, but they claim it has emulsification properties.

The only thing with this is long term use, and what the side effects are? I guess the stories of rashes only confirm my experiences.

Another food additive that I question is Maltodextrin which is said to lead to weight gain, because of its high glycemic index rating.

Though not a sugar, it still has a glycemic index of 130 by itself (table sugar is only 65).

I wonder if anything is healthy anymore, I remember seeing it many foods labels.

Cupric Sulfate is another one of the ingredients that I question. How does it burn out of the body, do you have an over accumulation effect on drinking this drink everyday?

It’s a carcinogen and causes cancer, maybe not at the doses of food additives, but how does the body burn it out of the system? We all have different metabolic rates, and different additives have different decay rates within the metabolism of the body.

I have all these questions, and get no answers without satisfactory conclusions, only paranoid suspicions.

Potassium Iodide is another one the ingredients I question, and was subject to its effects.

Potassium iodide works as an expectorant by increasing secretion of thinner mucus by the lungs

Iodine is needed by the thyroid gland to produce the T3 and T4 cells that regulate the metabolism of your body, this is getting beyond my knowledge of expertise, and is confusing me.

I question the phlegm build up in the lungs, and what if you can’t cough?

With the other ingredients effects, I find it dangerous to over accumulate the ingredients in the body without the knowledge of the decay rate of each of the individual ingredients.

With the different metabolisms of sugar and with the rise of diabetes over the last few decades, I question everything, especially when it’s sold as dietary supplement… meaning continuously using it.

It reminds me of an addict looking for his next fix, and I don’t want to do that.

Well, I woke to 3 days off of it, and an occasional cough drop to calm the irritation of the throat the uncontrollable coughing and phlegm upheavals have subsided to normal.

I know it’s Ensure that caused it, but I don’t know how to prove it.

I know to list the ingredients and to question their use in the product, and also question their metabolic rates to leave the body, since everyone alive has different metabolic rates.

We are not all clones… Thank God.

Well, from my re-reading of this post that I wrote almost 3 years ago, and because I got a proposal to include this link as an added resource.

I’m not verifying it as truth the info on this page, but it seems harmless. I find it questionable, cause it’s filled with “notifications”…they don’t have pop ups though, but that can change at any time.

There are many links in the chain from the authorship to the final project…including the hosting providers, marketers, and there could be many links in those links too. I’m trying to do it all, on my own, with no links except the hosting company and WordPress.

I was sick, when I first started this post… and I’m sick at the time of this add on. When will there be healing?
